I tried to do this last summer but someone else had the "corkball" username. But they must've deleted their account because it worked this time. So if you're on Twitter, follow corkball! http://twitter.com/corkball And don't forget to become a fan…

I don't get back to St. Louis too often, but since your league is a pickup one, I would definitely come on down to Tower Grove and try to play with y'all or at least watch. My immediate family all left St. Louis for Austin, TX, and I don't even get there too often. I think once you get to either coast you tend to stay there most of the time. I've noticed that with the U. City folks who moved to New York as well. You may meet Louis, the big legalist and adapter of fuzzball rules to real Little League baseball diamonds. He lives in St. Louis. I was back for fuzzball, pickup soccer, Cardinal baseball, drinkin' and tellin' tales back in '02 and '04 and for Louis' sister's wedding and a challenge with the Philly boys, who also play Cambrian Rules, so we didn't have to waste any time on rules. That trip we saw the last Cards-Cubs series in the old Busch Stadium. It was all the week Katrina was going down in NOLA. So I', due for a visit. If any of y'all are out in the SF Bay Area, c'mon by for some Cambrian Rules fuzzball.

Do you play for a corkball (or stickball, fuzzball, etc.) club or league? If so, where?

Corkball in River City

I haven’t played corkball since I was a kid, and even then it was only at a couple of family reunions (on the DuParri side of the family at that, too, if I remember correctly), and usually the game was spearheaded by my dad or one of his countless cousins. I remember having an old, weathered corkball and a beatup old corkball bat around the house growing up. That b… Continue
