Sounds like Vic is going to end up like me in a few years...Hope for your sake that doesn't happen. I have 7 dessicated discs and 4 herniated ones. My new best friend is Advil. Okay, Advil and beer/gin etc...
I can't find a surgeon to do surgery. The best one around says it's an 80 percent failure rate.

Dave, you can post your videos here, too. As many as you want, in fact. Just click on the "Video" tab at the top and add them. Thanks!

I really need to update this site with some recent history. I got a nagging mystery ailment on our opening day of 2006, which was Memorial Day. We had a really rainy Spring. Of course it doesn't rain in the Summer and early Fall at all out here. So this was my first year at over 40, and I was trying to get more extension on my front leg from reading Tom Seaver's book on pitching, and we had a new budget pitching rubber and I hadn't stretched out enough and I drank a Rock Star or Red Bull or some such shit, and I felt something tear. Well, I've had 2 cortisone shots in the left hip and been through physical therapy for a bulging lowest disc in the back, and now I've been doing yoga and had a weights program designed just to even things out in the whole back, shoulders through hips, and I think after this last week of throwing a no-hitter against a tough 4-man lineup and hitting 4 jacks in 2 games, catching 11 innings of the second game, coming back in to pitch the 12th before we called it a tie for darkness, and feeling normal all week -- I think I'm back. Anyway, Nate, the only one of us to ever get paid to be an athlete (snowboarding), who is only 35 yo, beat me in all pitching categories and all batting categories except batting average (I''ve been batting champ all 12 years), has finally taken over as the all-around best player. He's 4 inches taller and 8 years younger. It's about time. But maybe, just maybe... another guy named Jason Brookes came back in 2007 and hit .400 for just over 100 AB, so it counts. They voted him co-MVP with me; I hit .410 for over 300 AB, but still hitting .400 is an accomplishment. That year Jason Brookes, who pitched in college at Portland State, won our Cicotte Award for best pitcher, and Johnny B. has made great strides (I've caught him a lot and he really has 7 different pitches, so when he can throw 3 or 4 of them where he wants to he can beat anybody) and actually went like 8-4 and was second that year. The other years since I made the web page (2006 and 2008) were Nate years for best pitcher. Let's see, Quake lost his job and girlfriend the same week and tried to kill himself with booze. We sent him back to his mom in your neck of the woods, Festus, MO. He went through rehab and is living back in Oakland, so we may see his return, but he missed all of 2008. We actually had 3 rookies play well last year, 2 of them are 23 and one is 30. So there's some chance the game will endure out here. I'll try to get time to put this, more photos, maybe even some vids Stu shot out here in 2006, all on the web page. I don't know if you've ever done it, but coding XHTML and CSS takes a lot of time.
